The Willamette Valley Relay Walk is held in mid-July in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Teams of up to 12 walkers take turns walking legs of 3-8 miles from Champoeg State Park, over 130 miles to end in Eugene, Oregon. Teams may compete in various categories or may be a non-competitive "Walk Our Way" team. Profile of the Willamette Valley Relay Walk

My walking team, the Knights of Knee, participated in the 2005 Willamette Valley Relay as a Walk Our Way team. The team splits into groups of 6, each in a van. The first van of walkers takes turns walking the first six legs, then the second van meets them and begins their walking rotation the first team rests. They switch twice again to complete the 24 legs.
