The Bottom Line

The Sleek 150-Lap Ironman watch has enough capacity and features for the most serious lap timer, interval trainer, and race pace trainer. It has a large number display and a night light. It is especially well-suited to those training for a half marathon or marathon run or walk. It's pacing feature and drink-reminders can help keep racers on pace and properly hydrated.

Guide Review - Timex Sleek 150-Lap Watch with Tap Screen

Many walkers walk laps at the local track and may aim to speed up their lap time. Others do interval training with faster and slower intervals. The Timex Sleek 150-Lap Ironman Watch has great features for those who want interval and lap timers. It also uses a tap screen technology to allow you to just tap the face of the watch to record a lap, rather than searching for the right button.

The Sleek 150 comes in a few different colors and styles. The watchband is integral to the watch, which is a drawback in that it may wear out before the watch does. I found it comfortable to wear as my daily-wear watch and not just as a sports watch. I like the large number display and the Indiglo night light feature.

The watch set-up is fairly easy, but given all of the features, it is worthwhile to carry the instruction book or cheat sheet along for your first few uses. It comes with a laminated pocket guide that is perfect for that purpose.

The tap screen sensitivity is adjustable, so if you find the watch not responding to your tap or responding when you didn't tap it on purpose, you can change the setting.

The target time pacer can help you stay on target when you are training for a consistent speed. You set your desired time per lap, mile, or other indicator. Then when you tap the watch at the end of that lap or mile, it will give you a slow beep signal if you are going too slow, a single beep if you are on target, and a quick beep signal if you are going too fast.

The watch also has customizable alerts for when you should drink or snack on longer workouts. You can turn these signals on and adjust the time between signals. This is an excellent feature for those who forget to drink or who don't trust their thirst signal.

Overall, I found this to be an excellent sports watch that I am comfortable with wearing as my daily-wear watch as well.

Great watch Bad band design, Member RichardDob

Great watch works well but the Band will break after about a year of use and it's non-replaceable. If your okay with purchaing a new Watch every year then this isa good watch for you. I expect a watch to last a couple of years therefore I will never purchaes this watch again.
