Exercise is for young 'uns, right?  Wrong!

Bust it:
Almost 10 million Americans age 55+ list walking as their sports activity.  What's second?  Stretching with 1/3 the amount, golf with 1/5 as many.
Be a role-model to the younger folks.  If you take to your rocking chair at age 55, what are they to think?
My best walking friends are over 70 years old, and I regularly walk with friends who are in their 80's and 90's - and they finish 6 miles at a time. 
Lois did her first marathon at age 75.  The next day she walked 6 miles just to loosen up.  Now over 80, I see her at every weekend walk.  The top walker at my 18-Hour Walk, walking over 50 miles, is in his late 60's.  And these are just the folks who walk in my town!
Several medical studies have shown that taking up a moderate exercise program such as walking can help prevent major disease at any age.
Walkers live longer and walking regularly can prevent hip fractures, keep you flexible, and keep your mind clearer into old age, according to medical studies.
My favorite t-shirt, "Grandma started walking 5 miles a day and now nobody knows where the heck she is."
