Top Ten USA Walks - Georgetown DC

The Georgetown DC Walk #1395 has been voted one of the Top Ten Walks in the USA by the clubs of the American Volkssport Association since 1999.

This year-round self-guided walk visits historic Georgetown and scenic Rock Creek Park. The 10 kilometer (6.2 mile) trail has an additional 1 kilometer (0.6 mile) option to visit the Georgetown waterfront. The walk is rated a moderate difficulty, mostly on paved surfaces.

It is one of three walks that start at McDonalds, 2616 Connecticut Avenue., NW, Washington, DC 20008. Another Top Ten Walk of 2000, the DC Zoo Walk, also starts there, as well as a walk featuring Embassy Row and the National Cathedral.

To get there, you can take the Metro subway Red Line to Woodley Park-Zoo / Adams Morgan Station. The cafe is across the street from the Metro Stop.
