About the Program:
Note: books no longer available, must complete by Dec. 31, 2006. Walk an AVA-sanctioned walk in each of the original 13 states to earn a patch award. The walks may be regular weekend or year-round self-guided walking events in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island.
Dates and Locations:
The program runs June, 1999 through December 31, 2005. The AVA has sanctioned routes and scheduled events throughout the USA, listed on the AVA web site.
Registration and Procedure:
The Original 13 States Record Book is no longer available. Those with the book stamp it at each of the events with the AVA-IVV sanction stamp. Participation in this program requires participant registration prior to starting your walks (previously completed events do not count). Walks must be completed by Dec. 31, 2006.
Rewards:
Redeem the book when complete to receive a special 2.5" x 3.5" patch. A certificate will also be awarded, with 13 stars surrounding the certificate with the name of each state within the star. The patch is included in the price of the book. t-shirts are also available for $10 (includes shipping).
