Q: I have noticed that during my walking my hands are swelling. It goes away soon after I stop. Last night I noticed my ankles swollen quite a bit. This morning they had gone down some. I have no other symptoms and I have no trouble with breathing during my routine. Is this anything I should be concerned about?

A: It is normal for your hands and feet and ankles to swell during walking. You may want to remove your rings before walking, especially on hot days. It is wise to buy shoes that are a size larger than your regular shoes so your toes have somewhere to go. There are steps you can take to keep the swelling down, see my article on Swollen Hands.
