If you want to lose weight or prevent weight gain, how much do you need to walk or exercise? The answer seems to be 60 minutes a day of moderate intensity exercise, such as brisk walking, concludes "Physical activity considerations for the treatment and prevention of obesity" in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. While 30 minutes a day of walking can greatly reduce your health risks at any weight, you need more exercise if you want to lose weight or prevent obesity.
