No, seriously, dirt roads, so long as they're not too trafficked (and therefore dusty). Nice scenery, usually.

Walking natural trails

My husband,my friends, and I like to walk nature trails because it gets out into the country side and away from the hrum-drum of city life.

Asphalt

I prefer asphalt paths. The surface is hard enough that you can get a good steady walking rhythm. But asphalt also is somewhat cushioning, so you don't tire your feet and legs as much as on concrete sidewalks.
