Great way to share
- I carry a camelback with 3 liters of ice water for me and my 2 goldens. I hold the tube downward and just squeeze the bite valve. The water flows out and they drink from the stream of it. They lap the water and never touch the valve. The iced water pack helps keep me cool. They are so spoiled to having the water, they stop at certain spots along our route and 'ask' for the water. If you want to teach your dog to drink from a camelback, be careful not to squirt their face. Let them start drinking from the side of the stream. They eventually will 'get it'. Also keep in mind that dogs pick up the water from their bowl by curling the tongue from underneath, so you sort of have to squirt it into their mouth for them. When the supply gets low, I just bend over more and put pressure on the reservoir with my free hand. My dogs do this so well, they stop traffic at intersections. Hope this works well for you, if you try it.

Spray Water Bottle
- Whenever I walk my 2 dogs, I carry an over the shoulder carryall bag. In it I have my poop bags, a spray water bottle, water for me, a water bowl, my music, and a whistle. As soon as I see the dogs panting, I spray them without stopping. I take the opportunity to spray myself too. At first the dogs do not like the surprise, but when they realize it cools them they like it. We are able to walk longer and harder when we stay cool.

Handi-Drink
- My buddy Nona carries along a Handi-Drink dog watering system when walking with her pomeranians. It combines a water bottle with a water tray. She doesn't have to worry about her dogs drinking out of possibly-unsafe water sources, or being caught out with a thirsty dog and no water available.
