Laid off and not paid

I was just laid off from a job I held for seven months - loved and miss the job. In addition, I have not been paid for the month of December or January! Exercise is a must for me especially during this low time. However I'm having a hard time mustering up the little energy I have left to do it.

Out of Shape

I am so out of shape I might have a heart attack if I do anything except watch TV!

Walking excuse

Feet hurt unbearably. Tried different shoes, orthotics, pain meds. different socks. Nothing helps.

Excuse for not walking

Please advise as I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot and find it very very sore if I walk a lot, and I love to walk!

No Excuse for the trainer

I'm a certified personal trainer and I even have excuses not to get on my treadmill when my walking partners cancel...I could be fixing dinner instead, I should be folding clothes, I,I,I...so what about me...don't I deserve some time to exercise at my own level too!!

Wild Dogs

I live in beautiful countryside but we have a wild dog issue, plus maybe a few wild people issues; I carry bear spray but how to control groups of wild underfed dogs I don't know. I thought about carrying a pellet gun? But it is not exactly my idea of a relaxing walk

New Job

Well I was doing so well once I had the baby, then I started back working. When I get off work and get home it is 7:30 then I have to cook, fix bottles, bathe the kids I am Bombed. EXCUSES RIGHT !!! I have a treadmill and a gym membership

embarrased

I don't want to face the guy at the gym who was always my cheerleader when I was walking regularly and explain why I haven't been there in months.

Smog

I live in the city with the worst pollution in this country! In the winter, a temperature inversion caps the air in our valleys and smog builds up. Today is officially a Red Alert day: seniors and those with respiratory problems have been warned not to go outside, and it is illegal to burn wood or coal. We are also asked not to drive, to carpool if we must drive, and to take public transportation if possible. This sometimes happens in the summer, too. I could walk in the mall, but I'd have to drive to get there.

Bears

-2F & 20mph wind outside? Good excuse! Try up & down inside stairs-or something inside. It's good to not beat yourself over the head when your 'excuse' is reasonable. The 'No excuse' person? You're doing wonderfully well, get back out there! We're all with you! Tired mother of twins? What little time you can get them outside, if you have a double stroller, will be plenty. In any case, sleep whenever you can & don't worry about it! Sleep is as necessary as walking (well, more so) & probably in very short supply. My excuse: I'm worried about grizzlies in my neighborhood. Think I'm making that up? Nope.

I'll stat next week

I have several walking tapes that I used to do on a regular basis. Then I changed my work hours and have to get up at 5:00 every morning. Most days I am just too tired when I get home. It's just an excuse!!! Every week, when I don't get up and walk, I tell myself "I will start next week." If next week doesn't get here soon, I will have lost the entire battle.

My excuse(s)

Compressed nerve right inner thigh down to ankle; atrophied quads; lower spine stenosis & arthritis & constant pain & obviously overweight. HELP!!!!

My dog

He loves my treadmill and continually tries to jump on when I walk, which knocks me off. When he's not on, he licks the treadmill and if I lock him out of my room he jumps on the door and cries.

oops

1. All the walking energy around here is being all used up by someone on the North side of the Columbia. None left for me. 3. It's so dark in the basement, when I turn on the lights there's no electricity left to run the treadmill. 2. When the wind blows East out of the gorge, it turns South to strike my home on the North Slope of Mount Sylvania, freezing all the locks so I can't get out.
