Why I Wanted to Lose Weight

For me I wanted to feel good about myself all away around both physically and mentally. I didn't want my weight to hinder me in any aspect of my life. I had a occurrence of depression that affected my social life and my well being.

My Exercise and Diet Journey

I walk 4-6 miles a day at a pace of around 3.5 or 10,000 steps with doing ab exercises. I watch what I eat vigorously. I have maintained a high protein low carb diet which is 1700 calories. I drink a gallon of water a day. I also take Liquid L-Carnatine, Lecithin, Chromium and Zinc which all help in structuring my metabolism. I have zapped my sugar and salt intake as well.

Lessons learned

  • You have to make it a lifestyle change and not just a "Diet" its really a change from bad habits to good. The key is to stay with it .......even if there are days you don't want to do it anyway and the laziness wears off quick!
  • Don't eat anything past 8pm, but if you do make it light like a salad
  • Don't drink a lot of water before you walk cause toward the half way point or sooner you'll have to pee. Just take moderate sips.
  • Drinking water is a must. It the catalyst for losing weight. 8 glasses day
  • Look at nutrition labels on food and educate yourself with online info or a personal trainer

Wendy Bumgardner, Walking Guide, says:

It is good advice to drink water, and by drinking water you are avoiding drinks that have more calories. Let your body be your guide on how much water you can handle. For walking, a cup of water every mile or 20 minutes is usually enough.
