My Exercise and Diet Journey

I stopped drinking soda and switched to Gatorade. It wasn't as sweet, so I wasn't left wanting more, and it actually made me less thirsty, so I drank even less, and it has 1/2 the sugar of soda, while tasting a lot better than water.

Lessons learned

  • 8 oz of soda has as many sugars as a regular-size candy bar

Drinks are the sneakiest ways we take in extra calories, whether they are sugar-sweetened drinks or alcohol. Sports drinks also have calories, so you need to watch your intake of them outside of activities where you are burning calories for a long time and need to replenish fluids,s alts and energy calories. Plain old water is great for rehydrating throughout the day, and it is cheap if you can use filtered and chilled tap water or a bulk water cooler.
