This yearly walking festival on President's Day Weekend includes over a dozen walks in Gulf Shores, Alabama and next door in Florida, on the "Redneck Riviera" where the hotel rooms are inexpensive and the seafood is good, plentiful and cheap.
Discovery Walk Festival
In Vancouver, Washington USA, in April each year. That's just on the other side of the river from Portland, Oregon. This annual event includes distances for everybody from the beginner 5K to a full marathon. Walkers from around the world are expected for this International Marching League event. Full disclosure: I am on the board of directors for the non-profit organization that hosts this event.
California Volkssport Association Convention

Victoria Volkssport Phoenix Festival

Crazy Horse Volksmarch
The only chance of the year to get up close and personal with the emerging monument at Crazy Horse, South Dakota. As many as 13,000 walk. A 10K non-competitive walk held the first weekend of June.
All of these are sanctioned by the American Volkssport Associationor Canadian Volkssport Federation, members of the International Volkssport Federation(IVV). These events are open to the public and are hosted to promote health and international friendship through walking.
