About the Event:
The LIVESTRONG Challenge invites you to participate in a walk, run, or ride to benefit Lance Armstrong's Livestrong Foundation for cancer research and support.

Dates and Locations:
The event is held in several cities, with locations and dates varying each year. Two cities are staples: Portland, Oregon at the Nike World Campus, and Lance Armstrong's hometown of Austin, Texas.

Registration:
Prices vary from year to year. The registration requirements for 2008 were:
Ride (10, 40, 70 or 100 miles - specific distances vary by location): $50 registration fee and a $250 fundraising minimum.

Run/Walk (5K): $50 registration fee no fundraising minimum.
The Cause and Fundraising:
Funds raised through the LIVESTRONG Challenge support the Lance Armstrong Foundation's mission to inspire and empower people affected by cancer. Since 1997, monies have gone to fund cancer research projects, community-centered organizations and other awards.
Events at the LIVESTRONG Challenge:
A LIVESTRONG Village will be available the Friday and Saturday before the event. A Pasta Dinner is available for those who raise $2,500 or more, and all are welcome at the Post-event Party.
