At the end of August each year, the Hood to Coast Relay also includes the Portland to Coast Relay Walk. Up to 400 walking teams have 2 vans apiece. Each team has up to 12 walkers, who take turns walking legs of 3-8 miles each from Portland, Oregon to Seaside, Oregon, 127 miles.
They come up with fun names and decorate the team vans. I've been participating for the past 10 years. This year I took time at the last van exchange to take photos of the team vans. Keep in mind that these teams have been on the road for over 24 hours at this point. It was a gorgeous day at the final exchange just out of Seaside, Oregon.
