The Portland to Coast Relay Walk is held with the Hood to Coast Relay each August. The walk starts in Portland, Oregon on the banks of the Willamette River and finishes 127 miles later in Seaside, Oregon on the beach at the Pacific Ocean. Teams of 8-12 walkers take turns walking 24 legs varying in distance from 3.5 to 7.5 miles. Much of the fun of the event is choosing a clever team name, creating a team t-shirt or costume, and decorating the team vans. You need a sense of humor to endure 20-36 hours in a van with a bunch of sweaty team mates.
