Sprains
Twisting your ankle can cause a painful, swollen sprain. This is an injury to the ligaments. It requires immediate attention - Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. You can help prevent it by wearing well-fitted shoes and replacing them every 500 miles.

Dieting is Stressful
Research in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition showed that people who consciously make food choices and restrict their eating incur a lot of stress. They suggest that if you are at normal weight that you concentrate on eating well rather than worrying over what you eat. Simply think of increasing fruits and vegetables and whole grains rather than restricting food. Those who are overweight will still have to think about restrictions, but know that once they reach a desired weight it is best to go the "eating well" rather than constant-stressing route.

Stress Relief
After these weeks of walking and nutrition focus, are you feeling more stress or less? Does the walking relieve the stress only to have it added back by dieting or fixating on food choices? Have you reached the point of knowing how to eat well without worry?
