The Bottom Line

For around $1500, the Sole F80 treadmill is a very good selection for a folding home treadmill. It has a powerful 3.0 HP motor and is well-rated by a variety of raters. The lifetime warranty on the motor and frame, plus two-year in-home servicing make this an excellent bet.

Guide Review - Sole F80 Treadmill Review

Sole treadmills received a "Best Buy" rating two years in a row from Treadmill Doctor. Our treadmill consultant Fred Waters notes that the Sole treadmill residential models are used by the Hilton chain for in-room exercising, which says something about the durability of the machines.

The Sole F80 features include a 3.0 hp continuous duty motor, 55" length deck, wireless heart rate control and hand grip heart rate, 2.75" rollers, 5 window displays and can handle walkers up to 350 pounds. The speed and incline controls are conveniently located on the handlebars. You can make adjustments without breaking your stride. The 2-year service warranty can't be found on any other treadmills for under $3,000.

What can this treadmill do? It has speed adjustments from 0.1 to 12 miles per hour and incline adjustment from 0% to 15%

Use the six programmed workouts or the two user-defined workouts for interval training, distance training, or a heart-rate controlled workout. The treadmill has pulse grip monitors, plus comes with a wireless chest strap heart monitor.

During your workout, the monochrome LCD display shows the speed and incline profiles, distance, speed, calories burned and pulse rate.

The treadmill also has built-in cooling fans and a built-in audio system.
