Chafing - Definition of Chafing

Definition: Painful condition caused by salt from sweat and rubbing. Commonly occurs at crotch, upper thighs, underarms, nipples, and under-breast areas. May be prevented through use of lubrication before chafing-producing activity, or use of talcum and other drying agents or fitted clothing such as spandex shorts.
Pronunciation: chayf-ing (verb)
Also Known As: crotch rot
Common Misspellings: chaffing chaff
Examples: I get chafing under my arms, so I use a lubricant before I walk.
