One of the most enjoyable and lovely trails I've experienced in a town or city is the Truckee River Trail through Reno, Nevada. You can take a break from your convention or gambling to amble along the river and enjoy watching people kayak, tube, or body surf through downtown Reno. Or continue along the river for peaceful views of the sparkling river running over rocks and lined by greenery.
