I love the sound of cowbells as I hike the trails in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland. My husband and I encountered these cows as we hike around Mürren, beneath the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau and above Interlaken. I made up a calendar of my photos from Mürren, and my husband complained that there were far more photos of cows than of him. What can I say? The cows are very photogenic. Experts now warn not to approach the cows on the trails, as there have been an increasing number of cow/hiker incidents. Just appreciate them without bothering them.
