In addition to these lessons, consult with a coach or attend a racewalking clinic to make sure you are doing the technique correctly, as it is relatively injury free, but when done incorrectly can cause problems.

Warm-Up and Cool Down

Begin each practice session with a warm-up of 5-10 minutes of easy walking, then 5-10 minutes of stretching and flexibility drills. End with a 5 minute cool down of easy walking and again 5-10 minutes of gentle stretching.
