Magazine for Walkers:

Update January, 2009: Walk! Magazine has ceased publication and will continue as an online newsletter. Details for signing up for the newsletter are available on the Walk! Magazine web site.

Walk! Magazine was a quarterly magazine published four times a year. It debuted March, 2005. Walk! Magazine promised articles for all level of walkers from beginner fitness walkers to volkswalkers to marathoners and racewalkers. The editor promised to have great walking information rather than lifestyle pieces as seen in the defunct "Walking Magazine."

Subscription:

Subscriptions were $22 for 2005-2006 per year for home delivery.

Articles for Walkers About Walking:

Editor Cindi Leeman promised a magazine about walking for walkers, not a woman's lifestyle magazine. Features included gear reviews, race/event reviews, nutrition news and stories from walking clubs all over the country. It included interviews with all kinds of walkers.

Expert Advice:

Regular columns were contributed by Dave McGovern, author of "The Complete Guide to Racewalking" and "The Complete Guide to Marathon Walking." Other columnists include Tim Seaman -- a two-time Olympian who currently holds nine American records at distances ranging from 3K to 20K -- and Bonnie Stein, a national masters racewalk award winner, author, noted speaker, and the founder of AceWalker Walk Your Way To Fitness Programs.
