The Bottom Line

The Armpocket Sport 20 for the iPhone (or other devices up to five inches long) is a very good sport phone carrier for walkers, runners and bikers. I was pleased to be able to use the touchscreen through the touch-through window. With the Armpocket, I can carry along a credit card, cash or other ID in the two elastic interior pockets and still have room for an energy bar and my keys. It provides some weather protection, but is not waterproof. It has reflective piping for night safety.

Guide Review - Armpocket Sport 20

The Armpocket Sport 20 lets you take along your iPhone, iPod, or other device (up to five inches long) on a walk, jog or bike. You can use the device's touchscreen through the touch-through plastic window. It has two organizer pockets for cash or credit cards and space enough for an energy bar and your keys.

The Armpocket straps are wide and comfortable and close with velcro. It comes in two sizes for smaller and bigger arms. The back of the pocket is padded with memory foam. I wore it during winter months over my jacket and it worked very well.

The pocket has a two-way zipper, so you can choose which arm to wear it on and how you prefer to open it.

There is enough length to accommodate the Nike+iPod transmitter attached to the iPhone.

An inside elastic strap keeps your iPhone or other device snuggled against the touch-through window. I found it easy to use my phone screen through the window. One problem is that my favorite headphones have an L-shaped plug, and the Armpocket only works with a straight plug going in through the cord port. Otherwise, your phone won't snug up to the window.

The Armpocket has reflective piping and logos for night visibility. It comes in six colors, including bright pink and fluorescent yellow.

The Armpocket is made out of bamboo and recycled plastic. It is moisture-resistant but not waterproof.

Bottom Line on the Armpocket

I found the Armpocket to be the best sports case I've yet tried for the iPhone. The only negatives are that it isn't waterproof and doesn't work with an L-shaped headphone plug. But the advantages of the storage and ease of use with the touch-through window are enough to make me use different headphones.

Other Armpocket Models

Armpocket also has a trail model with even more storage capacity, and two front pocket models without the touch-through window.
