The Bottom Line

This unisex waterproof rain suit is highly breathable and lightweight. It truly keeps out the rain while being supple and packable. Unlike many "value" rain suits, it has no rubbery/plastic smell either. It is basic, just a zip front and a hood with drawstring. No pockets, no vents. The pants have an elastic waist and legs wide enough to slip over shoes. The price is excellent for the value.

Guide Review - Rain Shield O2 Rainwear

A yellow rain suit is a walking essential for dreary, rainy days. I was truly pleased with how supple, scentless, and breathable the O2 Rainwear rain suit was. I wore it through several cloudbursts and it kept me dry, with the water beading up and rolling off without soaking into the fabric, while allowing any sweat to escape from inside as well. I wore it temperatures from 50-60F.

Basic Rain Jacket
The jacket has no pockets, no vents. The sleeves are generously long and have a simple elastic cuff. The zipper in front has a storm flap. The hood snugs down by means of a drawstring. I found that the jacket moved very well with me even when walking fast. In addition to being odorless, it also is very quiet without a lot of rustling.
Basic Rain Pants
The rain pants have an elastic waist. You pull them on, and for my size 9.5 shoes I didn't have to remove my shoes to put on the pants, although they do not have leg zippers. The pants worked well.

Long Term Review
One of my walking friends has owned the rain suit for two years and it is her favorite jacket in our rainy climate. She appreciates the bright yellow for safety in rainy conditions. She reported one problem with the leg seam of the pants ripping out, but the company was quick to supply a replacement. The suit has a warranty for one year and is rated for light duty and casual use.
