The Bottom Line

A body fat scale uses bioelectrical impedance to measure your body fat versus lean body weight. This scale displays both weight and body fat. One of the lowest priced units for measuring body fat and weight, but lacking in memory features. You must be consistent in when you measure to get good readings.

Guide Review - Tanita Ultimate Scale

A body fat scale uses bioelectrical impedance to measure your body fat versus lean body weight. It sends a mild electrical current through your feet to do the measurement. This scale displays weight and body fat. This model lacks memory, so you program in your personal data each time you want the body fat reading. You can take your weight at any time. It has adult and child settings. You must be consistent in when you measure to get good readings - things like dehydration, alcohol, etc. can skew readings. It is much more accurate than fat calipers.
