WOMAN Challenge Pedometer Walking Program

About WOMAN Challenge:
The WOMAN stands for Women and girls On the Move Across the Nation. This 8-week challenge begins on Mother's Day, May 14, 2006 to kick off National Women's Health Week. It ends July 8, 2006. Wear a pedometer and track your walking steps each day. Mark your progress on one of 6 virtual walks across the USA.
WOMAN Challenge.
Pedometers:
A limited number of free pedometers are available, but once they are taken you may use your own pedometer purchased at a sporting goods store or online. The program provided Sportline 330 pedometers.
Registration:
Register online for free. You may register as an individual or a team. Woman and girls age 9 or over are welcome. Men and boys are also welcome, but the weekly emails are geared towards women's health information.
Register for the WOMAN Challenge.
Reporting Your Pedometer Readings:
Log onto the WOMAN Challenge web site and record your pedometer readings for each day. You may catch up on past days if you miss getting online for a time. Your virtual walk marker will move along the route according to your pedometer reading if you log 10,000 steps or more a day, or whether you log in any amount of steps.
Emails:
You will receive a weekly email encouraging you to be physically active and with valuable women's health information.
