Guide Review - Nordic Walking: A Total Body Experience
Tim then covers the basic equipment - shoes, socks, and walking poles. I found his recommendations to be sound and he isn't selling one particular brand.
This book is a handy resource for its tutorial on nordic walking technique, stretches, and other exercises and games using the nordic walking poles. The illustrations won't win any art prizes, but they work great for understanding what you should be doing. I prefer them to photos because their simplicity also makes them easier to follow.
Tim devotes 10 pages to hydration and recipes for making your own healthy energy bars and trail mix. For those thinking of getting back to whole foods, this is a nice resource.
Tim includes 7 pages of web site listings of everything from research into nordic walking to technique to equipment sales sites.
Overall, I really liked this book for its clarity and usefulness for the beginning nordic walker, and its references for those who want to go to a more advanced level.
