I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to music. I usually listen to folk, country, and classic rock. But since walking I've been into some techno and heavy metal (really intense workout music).
I start my walk listening to music with a beat of about 120 beats per minute (BPM) and work my way up to 135 bpm. That starts me out at around 4+ mph to 5+ mph. I have a program called BeaTunes that determines the beats per minute of all the songs in my iTunes library (over 10,000 songs to choose from) and I create my list from this.
