The Bottom Line

This hat with a built-in ultra-bright, ultra-light headlamp is a great walking or running accessory in dusk, dawn, or after dark. It fits and feels like any other good cap, you can wear it anytime. After dark, just push in the button and you have an two ultra-bright LED lights to beaming from the brim. The light adds no weight at all. One drawback - the light might not be at the best angle for your head position.

Guide Review - Panther Vision LED Headlight Cap

I walk a couple of relays each year that include night legs, plus winter evening walks that are after dark. Today's LED headlamps are good, but an ultralight and ultra-bright LED spotlight built into a good hat is a nice solution. No messing with both a cap and a headlamp, here you have it all. No headlamp slippage, or annoying adjustments to make.

Panther Vision LED Lighted Cap by Day

The cap is made of premium cotton twill, with a generous bill to shield you from the sun in daylight. The LED headlights are built into the bill and are barely noticeable by day.

Panther Vision LED Lighted Cap by Night

After dark, simply press on the switch at the back hatband. It produces a two bright round spotlights aimed at the road ahead of you. The design is much lighter than most headlamps, without the annoyance of having to adjust the straps, deal with slippage, etc.

Angle Not Adjustable

You can't adjust the angle of the beam (other than tilting the hat), and when I use my correct upright head position, the beam disperses further up the road than I would like. It was fine for strolling around with my head aiming it where I wanted, but bad for walking a race with good form.
