The Breast Cancer 3-Day Walks involve long distance walking of 20 miles a day for three days, plus camping for two nights. These items will keep you more comfortable in camp and on the walk.
Don't sleep in 3-Day or Avon Walk camp without it! The Therm-a-Rest mattress insulates you from the ground so you won't wake up frozen, unlike air mattresses which do not insulate. It also provides the cushion your tired body will need. Best of all, it deflates down to a small size and re-inflates with just a few puffs.
Take along a towel that packs small, absorbs big, dries quickly for camping at the 3-Day Walk. The PackTOWL is your best bet if your walking event doesn't include the towel service. Even if it does, this is a great item to have along for use in your tent.

Wendy Bumgardner ©I like to roll over when I sleep, but most sleeping bags don't let you do that easily - and when you do, you roll off your pad. Big Agnes solves that by incorporating a pocket to slide your pad into, and another pocket to create a pillow from your jacket or to hold your pillow in place. The result - a better night's sleep in camp.

Wendy Bumgardner ©:A headlamp provides light where you want it - in the tent, in the porta-john, in between throughout the 3-Day Walk camp at night. LED models are lightweight and the batteries last long hours. Great for reading in the tent at night.
You will need to get up and get moving both before and during the Avon 3-Day Walk. These travel alarm clocks are set by satellite for exact time, and come with many nifty features.
After a long walk and a shower, have your tentmate give you a foot and leg massage (and give him/her one in return.) It is amazing how much that can restore some energy to your legs and feet and prevent some of the stiffness and cramping. Burt's Bees foot creme was recommended by 3-day walkers to keep your feet happy and refreshed.
This is a great bag for the 3-Day Walk and for travel thereafter, and the price is right! It has a top-loading main compartment and two front pockets. It is big enough for everything but your sleeping bag and pad, which you can strap to it. You can get a wheeled version or a regular version. It meets airline maximum size standards so you won't get zapped for extra charges for your checked luggage.
