Walking along one of the canals which drain this area which is slightly below sea level and was flooded during World War I to stop a battle.

The city limits were a welcome sight as we had been walking into the wind for several kilometers.

The fest tent is located 2 kilometers from the finish.  Each walker has a ticket for a free Coke and a free beer.  There was music, plenty of tables and chairs, hot dogs and pancakes.  It was a very welcome place.  I was amazed at how the beer took away the exhaustion and lightened the rest of the walk back into town.
