'NB' 'Fitness walkers'   'Womens' '***** Best' '******These shoes are the best!  they cost a lot $110 but are worth it.  I walk 25-35 miles each week (a little less in winter) and often do 10 mile walks on weekends.  These shoes are like walking on clouds! No blisters  no toe crowding--love the wide toe box!!! Great all around shoes for walking' 'pswaring'

'Walking'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'I have three pairs of 841"s.  I loved my first pair so good that "santa" brought me two more.  He wqas able to get an additional pair at half price.  I have been an avid walker for 11 years and these are the best I have ever Used.  I have had many brand over this period.' 'racewalking' 'racer' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'replaces the NB100. excellent shoe for racewalkers. runs wide but not too terribly bad. it leaves you room for your foot to grow after that 3rd mile. ' 'rod'
'NB640' 'Walking' 'stability  cushioned.' 'Womens' ***   Average 'Does not seem as stable as the old 840 s that I liked a lot.  Cannot use the newer 840s since the seems bother my feet.  Also it is not as light  and does not include the motion control.    I have a narrow ankle and my foot slips a lot  I chose a shoe with a double eyelit so I can lace them to stop my foot from slipping. However  my foot may not slip in these shoes  I feel that they were not worth the 65 dollar investment I made in them.' 'AlseaWalker'
'NB655'

'walking' 'stability  cushioned' 'Womens' '***** Best' 'Just finished walking my first marathon and wore my NB655. The shoes were so comfortable  roomy  cushioned. NOrmally my feet hurt so bad after a day of either standing on them or walking for an hour  but after my marathon the only thing that did not hurt on me - were my feet.' 'Diana'
'New Balance' 'running' 'thick soles  good motion control' 'Womens' '***   Average' 'I prefer thick soles - a good running shoe that s sturdy.  Don t need fancy cushioning  but do like plenty of padding on tongue  due to bone spur on TOP of my foot. I also like a fabric top  for air circulation.  Do not care for all leather shoe.  (Don t understand WHAT I am rating for Best  Very Good  etc)' 'Sheila'
'New Balance' 'Running' 'stability  cushioned  over-pronation' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'Seems to be the perfect shoe for me. I use them for both walking and running. Very stable. Able cushioning. Corrects my over-pronation - no pain.' 'JJODON'

'Running/Trail Shoe' 'Trail Shoe' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'As a person with lots of joint problems  I found most walking shoes to be to painful to wear for any real length of time.  I finally went to the New Balance running shoes and the trail shoes.  These are the BEST!  They have the support and the cushion I need to walk a 10K 4 times a week.  They also come in very wide sizes as well.  Joint problems?  Try these and kiss most of the pain away.' 'Winter'
'New Balance' 'think cross trainer' 'unknown' 'Womens' '****  Very Good' 'I have recently purchased New Balance 608s and love them.  Could not find a New Balance walking shoe that laced in local area.  Had used SAS prior to this purchase with great satisfaction.  Also purchased a Reebok walking shoe in past that was an absolute nightmare on my feet.  Will look for a New Balance WALKING shoe next time I leave town and have time to shop.' 'WALKING'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'I like the shoe because it comes in wide sizes  is affordable  isn t Nike  has a stabalizer in the sole  which helps my pronation.  ' 'MIKE'
'new balance 100' 'racewalking' 'performance trainer/racer' 'Mens Womens' '***** Best' 'I love this shoe!  Very wide toe box so my toes never feel cramped.  Very flexible sole so I can maintain proper technique. Very lightweight and comfortable.  I train 25-30 miles weekly and have raced from 5k to 1/2 marathon in this shoe.  I stockpiled extra pairs of this shoe when I found out New Balance was marketing a new model.' 'sarah'
'New Balance 100' 'racewalking' 'racer' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'This shoe requires no "break in."  The upper part of the shoe is flexible and lightweight.  The sole is flat and flexible.  The toe box is large.  ' 'Will'

'running' 'cushioned' 'Womens' '***** Best' 'Loved these shoes for the 60 miles required for the Avon 3-day. I even bought these shoes 4 days before the SF walk and had no problems. Since I had a high arch and needed a wider width these shoes worked out wonderfully. They have a stretch tongue and none slip laces which make a difference for swelling feet after 10+ miles. I highly recommend these shoes and glad I bought them this year  no more blister problems for me on my heels. ' 'Mary3Day'
'New Balance 110'

'Racewalking' 'performance & racer' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'This is a very light and flexible shoe.  It has a groove under the ball of the foot for flexibility. I wore it in both the Boston and Portland marathons with good success.  It is very much like the NB100 that it replaces; I can t really tell the difference between the two  both of which I like very much.  ' 'Ole'

'racewalking'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'I previously wore the New Balance 100 then moved to the 110 when it came out.  Great improvement and a great shoe.  I have a wide foot but the NB100 was too wide.  The 110 is a slightly narrower shoe and comfortably grips the foot.    I have worn these shoes for several marathons (I finish in the 6:30 to 6:45 range) and have never had any problems with the shoe.  I am overweight but  even though racewalking shoes generally lack support and cushioning  I did not have any problems.   ' 'Becky'

'Walking model # 841' 'Stability  motion control' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'I have been wearing the 841 New Balance for several years. It startd out as the 840 and as improvements were made the model # was changed. It is by far the best walking shoe for serious walkers I have used.' 'Dick'

'walking' 'unknown' 'Womens' '***** Best' 'This is the best shoe I have ever owned and I have gone to great lengths to get a second pair  as they are not routinely stocked by my local store due to the cost. They are the top of the line and with a price tag to match but worth every penny. They are very light but stable and I can walk forever in them with no pain despite having plantar faciitis(sp?). They work extremely well with the orthotics prescribed for this condition also.  ' 'bluenoser52ca'

'new balance 990'

'running'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'new balance s 990 running shoe has to be one of the most comforatable shoes made. It is also very versitle  i pesonally wear it to basket ball warm ups or shoot arounds and track practice.' 'jimmy'
'New Balance RC230SB' 'racewalking' 'road racing flat ' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'This shoe is very flexible for pushing off with the toes. It comes in wide  so there can be plenty of room for a comfortable toe box.It breathes well. It has a relatively low heel. The outsole wears very well  but the mid-sole in the heel area starts to break down after just a couple hundred miles (but then again  I m a rather heavy guy). The shoe costs about $50 a pair. ' 'Sanjon'
'New Balance/ 962'

'walking'   'Mens Womens' '***** Best' 'Great support and protection with a good degree of cushioning.  Be aware though  new balance claims the shoe to be waterproof.  Actually the nubuck leather is treated and is highly water-repellent  and will keep you dry in most conditions people encounter.  But it is not waterproof!!!' 'Nike Mikey'
'New Balance/840' 'walking' 'motion control  stability  cushioned' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'When I was a runner I choose NB for its cushioning and stability as well as its wide selection of widths. Never had a foot problem in my years of running. Now that I am a walker  all of the above still apply. NB makes a great shoe.' 'Dick'
'New Balance-achieve' 'walking/running (?)' 'unknown' 'Womens' '***   Average' 'Stiff and clunky(hit pavement with noise!)  WHY ARE MORE AND MORE BRANDS OF ATHLETIC SHOES NOT DESIGNATING USE?  IT WOULD BE EASIER IF THEY WERE MARKED "RUNNING" "WALKING". ' 'Camy'
'NewBalance' 'walking'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'None better  especially for wide short feet (grin). Ones with velcro straps for closing are super!' 'Ned'

'Running'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'I tried on zillions and was actually pleased with Nike Pegasus. But at the last minute tried on Nike Shox and was extremely surprised. Nice fit and I have a wide foot. Though the laces could be a bit longer. No ankle support like Pegasus but impact is totally absorbed by the design. Nice grip on varied surfaces. Nice feel on treadmill and on pavement. Firm but good flexiblity. Nice sleek black design with reflectors. Toe and heel doesn t rub. I got a half size larger than foot size. $150 was double what I planned for but  worth it. Wish I could afford 2 pair.' 'Earthfire'

'running' 'cushioned' 'Mens' '***** Best' 'This running shoe has a wonderful cushiony but stable and resilient walking feel. Plus the fit is the best Nike yet. Coat the heel with something to keep it from wearing down before the rest of the shoe wears out' 'Leverleg'

'Running'   'Mens' '*     Poor' 'Shoe seems to have caused left knee damage. The location of the wedge in the middle of the shoe forces my foot to come down unnaturally placing tremendous force on my knees. The first day running with the shoe resulted in shin splints. After waiting two days for shins to heal tried the running with the shoe again. This time my knees were extremely sore. After a month of not running I m still experiencing problems with my left knee. To think that I paid $150 thinking I was protecting my knees. The shoe will only work properly for a very particular running style. Stick with a comfortable pair of Nike Air or equivalent. Avoid Nike Shox AT ALL COSTS! ' 'runner dave'

'running'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'This shoe is really good if you have not tried it on.   The upper is made out of a special stretch mesh which offers outstanding comfort throughout.   The cushioning is good and its lightweight and flexible.  This shoe is good for runners with a normal to high arch  heel  midfoot  and forefoot strikers looking for a lightweight fastpace shoe.' 'running'   'Mens' '***** Best' 'This shoe has an excellent blend of cushioning and support.   It s a great shoe for runners with a low arches with a light to normal weight range.   The cushioning is fairly well balanced through the heel  midfoot  and forefoot areas so it works well for all types of foot strikes.' 'Nike Mikey'

'Walking' 'Walking' 'Womens' '***** Best' 'I have tried about 10 brands. I heard the New Balance Racewalking shoe was wide in the toe box  but though it had the arch support I needed  it was not wide enough in the toe box. Nike just works best for me since I have a wide foot ball or toe box and a very small heel with a very high arch.' 'Jeannie'

'running' 'racing flats' 'Mens' '****  Very Good' 'It is very good for 10k and less. they have enough cushion for the distance but not over. They are very light  together at about 6 oz. the toe box is enough for most people. Though there is no overzise. They size from 3-10. ' 'Alice Tan'
'No Shoes At All' 'Multipurpose'   'Mens Womens' '***** Best' 'Don t knock this brand until you ve tried them.  Always a perfect fit at an excellent price.  Easy cleanup and they breathe quite well.  These shoes can actually correct and/or prevent many foot problems without special fittings or appliances!'
