Happy Holidays

2004 was an excellent walking year.

First, we enjoyed the ice storm pictured above - I took out my Yaktrax and Stabilicers slip-on cleats to see how they worked (very well).

The 2004 Discovery Walk Festival in Vancouver, WA was a success in its 8th year. I am the president and registrar. We look forward to an even better event in April, 2005, I hope you can join us there!

In May, Rich and I took a non-walking trip to the Napa Valley to refresh and restore after hosting the the Discovery Walk Festival. A lot has changed since we went there for our first anniversary 18 years ago, and we had a fabulous time.

My Portland-to-Coast walking team, now called the Knights of Knee, got together most weekends to walk and talk. Two of us, Krista and I, joined the Buns N Roses team for the first Willamette Valley Relay Walk and we had a good time. Knights of Knee will be doing this event as well as Portland-to-Coast in 20905.

Krista inspired four of us to once again train for and walk the Portland Marathon. It was my fifth marathon. Lessons Learned on my Fifth Marathon.

Rich and I took a fall trip to tour the Gettysburg and Antietam battlefields. Then we enjoyed the ROA-US FreedomWalk Festival in DC.

Wishing everyone a great walking year in 2005. May walking bring us together!
