Happy Holidays

2003 was an excellent walking year. My Portland-to-Coast team, Red Hot and Rolling, got together most weekends to walk and talk, and we added several new members at the last minute for the August event.

Four of us trained together for the Portland Marathon and walked it together, along with Krista (one of the new team members). It was my fourth marathon. Walking the Portland Marathon

In May, Rich and I had a glorious two weeks on the Rhine in Germany and in Salzburg, Austria. We also had a fun week in New York City in September while I walked the NYC Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Walking the NYC Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Rich and I both volunteered as trail marking crew for the Portland Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in July, 2003 and we enjoyed supporting this excellent event, but unfortunately Avon did not renew Portland as a site for next year.

The 2003 Discovery Walk Festival in Vancouver, WA was a success in its 7th year. I am the president, registrar, and publicity manager. We look forward to an even better event in April, 2004, I hope you can join us there!

Wishing everyone a great walking year in 2004. May walking bring us together!
