Photo Gallery - 2003 New York City Avon Walk for Breast Cancer |
Walkers head out of the Wellness Village. Today all walkers do 13.1 miles. But I noted that many who did the full 26.1 mile route on Saturday planned to take rides in the sweep vans today. There were many walkers with blisters.
Across the footbridge, which comes out at 102nd St in East Harlem. Most of the route today had numerous street crossings. I was walking faster than almost everybody, but then I only did the half-marathon the previous day.
We walked along the park next to FDR Dr. Then inland to Lexington Ave. through the elegant Upper East Side. Then along First Avenue through Murray Hill and Greenwich Village, with a Rest Stop at Peter Cooper Village. I stretched at every stop.
