| Day Zero - Avon 3-Day Walk |
Now you are ready to roll, but you may
want to tour the other booths available:
General Store
Need some logo shirts, waistpack, towel, hat, or necessary item? Stop in here.
The store travels with the event, so if the line is long and you can wait, visit it
on the other days of the event.
Travel
Did you forget or lose your host hotel shuttle pass or have other travel questions?
Check here. Last-minute passes were available.
Video
At the DC walk, they were filming a video of the event for sale to the walkers and crew
for $19.95 or a further discount for three. This is a great memento and useful in
further recruiting walkers and donors.
Ideas
If you have any ideas or comments, stop by this trailer and give them.
2002
Sign up for next year and find out what other Pallotta TeamWorks events are planned for
next year.
Impact
Find out more about how the Avon 3-Day Breast Cancer Walks and other Pallotta TeamWorks
events have helped charities and changed the lives of those who participated and donated.
Food and Drink
Hot dogs and sports drink and water were being sold. The information brochure also
showed where other food services were available.
Host Hotel Shuttle
When you are ready to go, pick up any luggage from the Temporary Luggage Hold and proceed
to the shuttle buses, which are neatly organized with signs by each designating which
hotels it goes to. This is another chance to meet other walkers while waiting.
Grade for the day: A+
I organize a large yearly walking event, and I've helped organize a walking convention.
We need to benchmark with Pallotta TeamWorks as the ideal to which we can aspire.
Everything runs not only smoothly, but also with great helpfulness and kindness.
No look of confusion goes un-answered. Great signs guide you everywhere, as
well as the printed materials provided. Accommodations are built-in for the hearing
impaired. You never have to wonder where the toilets are. Care is taken so
that nobody ends up waiting long in the sun or other weather. The process I have
seen as crowded bedlam at other events and marathons, with grumpy and helpless volunteers
and exasperated walkers - here it was smooth, fun, and left you a little less anxious
about what was to come.
