Day Zero - Avon 3-Day Walk
Pledges and Medical

Pledge Office
Short of pledges?  You have two options - either to make up the remainder yourself, or stop by the very-unofficial pledge swap and collect the "extra" pledges of those who raised more and have some to share.   For my walk, the pledge swap was at the entrance to the Pledge Office, but it may be elsewhere at different Avon 3-Day Walk sites.  Naturally, it is best for the charity if each walker collects their own pledges, and nobody wants to encourage less-than-vigorous pledge solicitation.  But the pledge Pledge swap swap at this walk helped 92 walkers reach their minimum.  I stopped by and dropped off the extra pledges I had in hand.  I filled out pledge forms for them but left off the Walker Number and Walker Name so that could be filled in by those who needed more pledges.  This is an informal process that is not an "official" part of the event, so be patient and helpful in this area, and if you benefit from the swap, consider offering to help the swap team in some way.

Next stop is the Medical area where they ensure that your medical form has been received and has all needed information and signature.  Once everything is in order, they stamp your check-in card and you can proceed to the Safety and Orientation Video.
