Washington State Challenge Walking Programs

About the Programs:

The Washington State Challenge includes various walking programs to give incentive to walking AVA-sanctioned walks in the state of Washington. The walks may be hosted weekend events or self-guided year-round walking events. Washington State Challenge

Washington State All Clubs Challenge:

To achieve this award, you must complete one event (walk, bike or other) for each of the 25 qualifying Washington clubs. To qualify, a club must sponsor at least one seasonal or year-round event. The All Club Events program runs 2008 through 2010. All Clubs Challenge

Washington State 39 Counties Challenge:

Walk an AVA-sanctioned walk in each of the 39 counties of Washington. Record booklet $8. Order Form. Stamp the book with the AVA stamp for each event or write in previously completed events. Send in when complete for an award patch. 39 Counties Program Rules. A color-in the counties t-shirt is available at the ESVA sales tables at many of the hosted walking events.

Town and Trail Walking Challenge:

The Town and Trail program consists of four themed booklets — Nature, Town & Country, Waters and History, one per year starting with Nature in 2004. The $8 booklet challenges you to complete 7 AVA-sanctioned walks for each of the four categories for a total of 28 events. A completed booklet entitles you to a 6"x6" full-color patch. You have three years to complete each booklet. Program Rules.

Dates and Locations:

All programs count both regular weekend hosted walks and self-guided year-round walks sanctioned by the AVA in Washington State.

Each program record booklet is available for $8. Order form. Each booklet may be redeemed at no extra charge when full for the award patch for the program.
