Route 66 Walking Program

About the Program:
The Route 66 Walking Program is set up for the participant to complete an AVA-sanctioned walk in each state along the path of Route 66: Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California.
Dates and Locations:
Sales of the program record book ended December 31, 2005, those already having books but can take as long as you need to finish the events. The AVA has sanctioned routes and scheduled events along Route 66. "Starting Point", the AVA's yearly guide to their self-guided trails, lists the Route 66 events among the 1200+ trails offered daily. Weekend events are listed on the AVA web site by state.
Registration and Procedure:
Walk along the path of Route 66 in each state - Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California. Stamp the book upon completing each event. Send completed record books to: Elaine Samus, 4710 Tortuga Trail, Wichita Falls, TX 76309. Any questions? email esamus@prodigy.net
Reward:
Upon completion of the required number of events, the participant sends their book in to Elaine Samus and will receive a special award recognizing their accomplishment.
