For
150 pound person, walking 6 miles burns about 500 calories. Running burns
a similar number of calories per mile, but our runner ran only half as far as
the walker. Step aerobics gives a good workout and burns more calories per
hour, but again our exerciser spent only a half hour in the step aerobics
class. Sex usually doesn't burn as many calories.
