Back in 2006, I was packing for the Las Vegas Half Marathon and couldn't find my Sub4 DRYLYTE Extreme Cold Hat. I gave up and packed along an earband to go over a regular hat. So, when I saw the Sub4 booth at the marathon Expo, I squealed and stampeded past several scrawny runners to see whether they had my favorite hat for sale. Yes, they did. Relief! Happy!
But now, requiem as the owner is retiring and Sub4 is going out of business. I literally bought the last hat he had so I could put it away for safekeeping. Fine for me, but what about you? What can you wear on your head in winter to keep your ears warm, won't blow off your head, and has features I need like a bill to keep the sun and rain off my face and ponytail hole?
Here are my new Top Picks for Winter Walking Hats.
If you can handle the fashion statement, here's a fun one to keep your chin warm, too: Beard Beanie (Compare Prices)
