By now the Halloween candy should be gone, so no more using Fun Size Snickers as energy bars. Keep up your workouts and sign up for a local Turkey Trot or holiday charity walk/run. Clif has its holiday flavors out for their energy bars. This year they are Spiced Pumpkin Pie, Iced Gingerbread, and Peppermint Stick. (Compare Prices) My walking buddies and I have been Clif bar fans for many years. They have the right consistency to pack along and eat with melting coatings and crumbles, and they are made with understandable natural ingredients. But best of all, they taste great.

I also got samples of The GFB - Gluten Free Bar. One of my walking buddies is on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet. Clif bars don't list wheat or dairy ingredients, but their allergen list says they cannot guarantee there isn't a trace of those in their bars. Three of us sampled the GFB bars and they were tasty, had a great consistency for use while walking. They have a fairly high 1:2 protein to carb ratio, making them a nice choice for a light breakfast snack before morning workouts.
