Military Walkers

Our military walking correspondent, Gary Nelson, has participated in many long distance walking events in Europe. His tips for military walkers gives advice on training to walk in military gear and participate in walks as part of a military group.

Nov. 11 is Veterans Day in the US, set on the day fighting ceased in World War I. I honor veterans of all nations who served in their country's military. I would not have become a walker without the participation in volkssport walking events of the US troops stationed in Germany when the sport began. Those men and women brought the walking sport of volkssporting back to the US after their tours of duty.
