Walk With Walgreens

By April 2, 2012

Follow me on:

Walgreens has an online walk tracking program with rewards for logging steps and walks. The US pharmacy chain is promoting walking for health and fitness. Walkers sign up for free at Walk with Walgreens. Immediately they receive coupons for walking-related items.

Walkers can log their steps and draw walking routes online to have distance and steps automatically calculated. As you log your walks, you get badges, coupons and rewards that you can share on social media such as Facebook.

The Walk with Walgreens program was featured on the April 1, 2012 episode of Celebrity Apprentice. The pedometer featured in the program, the Omron HJ-112, is our Top Pick for pedometers. Review of the Omron HJ-112

I keep putting my information in but when I submit it , the page goes blank and I have to resubmit it. I will continue trying, if it does not work I will go to Walgreens tomorrow but I do think it is a shame following the airing of celebrity apprentice this would have been there largest sign up if only they worked out the kinks with their web site for signing up and make it more understandable how it will work as far as getting the kit and the promotional items. I run a weight loss group so I hope they work this problem out before Tuesday , since I plan on promoting it at our next meeting. Sincerely January
p.s. I think its a great idea, America needs to reconect and get healthy when is the last time you went for a walk with someone, that is great bonding time. Take a child for a walk and find out what is going on in there lives, we used to talk at the dinner table, now families rarely even eat together. We need to slow down and enjoy life and getting healthier by doing so is a big bonus. Thanks Walgreens Great idea !

Hi, I haven’t had any problems with the website so I can’t help you there but to get the free start up kit; you first register online and then you go to Walgreens and and they will give you the kit (I haven’t got mine yet, but from what I understood you don’t need a coupon or anything to get one). It is a black bag with a free pedometer in it. They only have a limited quantity though so you better hurry up and get one! If you can get on the website, you should enter the sweepstakes and they will show you a picture of the bag. Hope this helped!

Just registered myself and I found this cool app to help remind me to go walking each day. It’s called “You’re On!” and it helps you keep good habits by sharing and completing challenges with friends. Try it by clicking on the following link:

I realize this is well after the date of the last comment posted, but here it is November 2012 and the “Walk with Walgreens” site is STILL just about the slowest site I’ve ever visited. Logging in takes FOREVER, as does then waiting for the part where you actually log your walks. I’ve had some walks that I logged in that didn’t show up AT ALL and then others that I logged in only ONCE that were double counted! I don’t know if the slowness and glitches are because the site is getting so many “hits,” or if it’s a case where Walgreens designed it strictly as a publicity stunt and doesn’t want to devote the money to really make it a top-notch site.

The average number of miles per month is 150 miles for a person to be healthy. The walk program only allows to earn 1000 points a month. In order for it to be a program that promotes health it should be three thousand. Otherwise we are only 1/3 healthy!
