Hi Wendy – I’m loving your daily walking facts and information! Did you see the story in Sunday’s NYTimes about the Brooklyn man who walked around his block 70+ times to log a walking marathon? I’m posting it on my blog on Wednesday. I hope you’ll check me out at http://www.mybigwalk.wordpress.com.

I recently finished my first half marathon, the Triple Lakes Trail Race in Greensboro, NC. The race staff was very friendly and they created a terrific atmosphere. However, long distance trail walking isn’t for me. I plan on completing half marathons, and maybe even a marathon, in the future, but I will stick to nice hard surface roads for those. I still enjoy walking on trails, but only a couple miles at a time.
