Shearling Flip Flops
(Compare Prices)

I came across an ad for the L.L. Bean version of these shearling flip flops, and I just couldn't understand why anyone would want them. Full disclosure: I hate flip flops. They are bad for walking. They can ruin your gait. I understand that they can be comfy around the house or yard or on the beach. Fine. But what is going on with shearling flip flops? Is the sole of your foot cold but your toes are hot? Is this something that will happen in menopause that nobody has told me about yet? It's the first day of autumn and my toes are cold but the sole of my foot is nice and toasty. Will that "flip flop" as I age? The L.L. Bean version doesn't have the sexy shearling on top of the foot, so it is less of a fashion statement. Dear walking fashionistas, would you buy these?

These are hideous! If I was going to wear flip-flops they would be Rainbows or Fitflops, not these ugly things.

Yeah, I saw a version of these at l.l.bean and didn’t get the point either. Generally, it’s my toes that need insulation, not the rest of my foot - but hey, maybe I’m weird *shrug*. I guess we should just file this under the “different strokes for different folks” heading!

I know why! Athletes’ foot! You want nice toasty feet but don’t want a closed toe. Just to let you know, LL Bean no longer has these. So your confusion can end.
