When Do You Walk?

Sunday March 9, 2008
Do you have a favorite time of day to walk? Why do you walk then? The research is conflicting as to what the best time of day is for walking and exercise. It may be better for motivation and habit-building to walk first thing in the morning or at a convenient time of day. But some athletic performance research says our bodies are more responsive to late afternoon exercise.

When do you prefer to do your walking and exercise? For myself, I walk in the mornings on the weekends. During the week, it's been most convenient to walk with a co-worker at break or lunch. But since I've moved to within walking distance of work, I may be doing a walking commute in nice weather.

I like to go for walks in the mornings and also in the evenings. In the mornings one feels the freshness more and in the evening it is more relaxing.
