Let the Tour de France Inspire You to Jump on Your Bike

Thursday July 7, 2005
Bicycling is fantastic crosstraining for walkers. It exercises the muscles opposite of your walking muscles and is great aerobic exercise. I have Tour de France fever, and thanks to digital cable I can watch it each day on the OLN network. The Tour de France Coverage guide is a great quick list to finding the latest live coverage.
I just finished "It's Not About the Bike", Lance Armstrong's autobiography about his battle with cancer and winning his first Tour de France. Now, after winning a record 6 times, he is attempting his seventh victory. After reading the book, I am even more honored to wear his yellow Livestrong wristband. He had only the tiniest chance of surviving his aggressive cancer, yet came back to win the most grueling endurance contest on earth six times - and I'm cheering for the seventh. My heart is with any family battling cancer, and whose isn't?
